Corona Virus – New and Old
Over the last few months the Corona Virus outbreak and spread has caused a lot of confusion and fear throughout the entire world, not just here in the U.S. It is important to remember that all of us, your doctors included, are still learning about this new strain of the virus and we will need to be flexible, resilient, and adaptable to the new information as it revealed.
The things that YOU can do at home and at work to minimize your exposure and risk are the old-time tried and true methods of washing you hands with soap and water, minimize your contact with other people, DO NOT deliberately go out if you are sick or be in contact with someone who is sick if you can avoid it. Use disinfectants on surfaces frequently touched and/or used to prepare foods. Single use of drinking glasses, coffee cups, spoons, wash clothes, etc. is also advisable. Using the heat cycle on your dishwasher is an effective way to “sanitize” your dishware so more frequent washes will help minimize your exposure, especially in a multi-person household.
If you are not sick, keeping your immune system working at its peak is one of the best “preventatives” to getting sick there is. Staying well hydrated, eating nutritious foods, getting regular sleep and exercise all help your body to ward off pathogens like viruses. During this high exposure event it is advisable that you exercise outside in the fresh air rather than in crowds of people in a club, gym, etc. Regular exposure to natural sunlight is also beneficial to your bodily functions, including your immune system, not to mention your overall attitude!
Now that summer is fast approaching, remember to stay hydrated and eat healthy. Keep enjoying the fresh air.
The best advice I can give you all is to stay calm, use common sense, and remember that good judgement is rarely exhibited when someone is in panic mode. Take care of yourselves, your loved ones, and your neighbors.

To our patients, the office is open! We are limiting the number of patients in our waiting room to one person at a time.
If you call for an appointment we ask that you call when you get to the parking lot and let us know you have arrived so we can minimize contact between our patients. We are following all CDC sterilization protocols in our office as well.
